Hobbymaster brings you a full weekend of events for our WMCQ Weekend at Hobbymaster Ellerslie Saturday 9th July – Sunday 10th July. We have a Grand Prix Trial Sydney, Last Chance Qualifiers for the WMCQ and the WMCQ itself! Two days of Modern events with one player going on to represent NZ at the World Magic Cup. Grand Prix Trial Sydney@Hobbymaster Ellerslie
Saturday 9th July – 415 Great South Road
This is your chance to grab byes for Grand Prix Sydney as well as get in some practice before the main event.
Start Time 11am
Entry & Format $20 – Modern

Last Chance Qualifiers@Hobbymaster Ellerslie
Saturday 9th July – 415 Great South Road
If you aren’t currently qualified for the WMCQ this is your last chance to make it.
Start Time 1pm LCQ’s will be run as long as we have players, LCQs will require 16 players.
Entry & Format $10 – Modern
Prizes one booster for each player and store credits 1st and 2nd place, 1st place also wins qualification to the Hobbymaster WMCQ (please note this only qualifies you for our WMCQ not any other)
Eternal Masters Draft@Hobbymaster Ellerslie
Saturday 9th July – 415 Great South Road
Limited spots for this chance to draft the ultimate draft format.
Start Time 3pm – This event will have limited spaces.
Entry & Format $50 triple EMA draft
Prizes Two EMA boosters for 1st, One EMA booster for 2nd.
World Magic Cup Qualifier@Hobbymaster Ellerslie

Store and registration opens: 9:00am
Players meeting 9:45am – Round One 10am
Entry Fee $35 (If pre-paid online by the 9th of July) $40 entry on the day.
Legacy Open@Hobbymaster Ellerslie

Format: Legacy
Start Time & Entry: 2pm - $15
Prizes: All entry fees will go toward store credit.
Important WMCQ Information
The WMCQ is an invite only event and is based on your previous seasons planeswalker points. To confirm you have an invitation please check the current qualification list:

If you are missing from this list and believe you should be qualified please contact Wizards of the Coast to resolve we cannot fix qualification issues.
The WMCQ is a high level event this means decklists are required and a high level of play. The event will have several level two judges on hand.
If you are not qualified Last chance qualifiers will be held at Hobbymaster Ellerslie on the 9th of July. These events will be $10 entry and single-elimination. The winner will receive qualification to the Sunday WMCQ. It does not qualify you for any other WMCQ events. Please note LCQ’s no longer provide the winner with a bye and only players who are not qualified may participate.

Pre-registration
This will be available online at www.hobbymaster.co.nz from 16th of June. Registration will also be available instore at Hobbymaster Ellerslie as well. Pre-registration is $35 till the 9th of July. On the day entry is $40.
Prizes
First place will receive entry and flights to the World Magic Cup to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands November 18th –20th this year. Top eight players will also receive an exclusive top eight playmat. All players will receive the exclusive WMCQ foil promo card, Abrupt Decay. Additional prizes will be announced shortly.
Side Events
The WMCQ weekend will have multiple events including a GPT Sydney Trial, Eternal Masters draft and LCQs on Saturday and a Legacy Open on the Sunday Afternoon. Full details of these can be found in the above post.
