Event Details:

40k Whiteshields is a tournament for Warhammer 40k players 18 years and younger. It is designed to promote the hobby to the younger generation and hopefully give them a fun day playing with their peers.

Each participant will receive a set of Objective Markers and a 1, 2 and 3” measurement gauge as part of the entry fee as well as lunch provided on the day (Hells Pizza).

Rules & Army Selection:

40k Whiteshields is a 1000 point event and will be played using the 8th Edition rules, including all changes from previous Chapter Approved & Big FAQs.

There is a limit of 3 detachments per army roster and we have decided to not allow the use of Forge World units, Lords Of War or Titanic Units, so sorry Guilliman, you may need to let Calgar field this one.

Army lists to be submitted to the tournament organizer: stewart.gardener08@gmail.com by 9/8/18 for review. WYSIWYG is not necessary so long as they points have been paid for. Proxy models are not allowed unless prior approved by the tournament organizer. Army lists will need to specify Warlord, Psychic powers and CP as well as any specialist detachments being used. I highly recommend using the BattleScribe App to put together your army lists.

Parental assistance is allowed for rules questions and unit weapons and profiles to try and keep the games moving quickly, however we discourage any tactical advice during gameplay so that it is a competition between the players only.

Missions:

Missions will be provided on the day. Tactical Objective cards will not be used to keep things simple and to prevent the need for players to have them. .

Prizes:

There will be prizes on the day for the following:

1st place

Last place

Best painted army

Randomly drawn spot prizes

As mentioned above, each player will receive a set of Objective Markers and Measurement Gauge as well as lunch during the day.

Prizes will be determined on the day based on the number of participants we have.

In case you were wondering:

Whiteshields is a name given to Imperial Guard conscript units made up of normal citizens, new recruits who have not completed training or children of Imperial Guardsmen. The Whiteshileds would be used when the threat to the imperium was dire and the Imperial Guard had to enlist the help of all available resources, which gave the Whiteshields a chance to prove their worth in battle in their quest to join a proper Guard regiment.
