NOVELLA: ISHA'S LAMENT

A Blackstone Fortress novella

On the edge of the galaxy, many desperate warriors seek their fortunes or futures in the Blackstone Fortress. When Imperial deserter Brakus Andradus inadvertently unleashes a deadly plague on Precipice, he must venture back into the fortress in search of a cure.

READ IT BECAUSE
Venture into the Blackstone Fortress with a down-on-his-luck sniper who is the only hope for Precipice's survival.

THE STORY
The Blackstone Fortress is a haven for those seeking fame, glory and power amongst the horrors of the galaxy. To many, it is a treasure trove beyond imagination, to others, it is an escape from their past, a chance to put their skills to use on the edge of the galaxy far from prying eyes. Brakus Andradus is the latter. A former sniper in the Astra Militarum, now a deserter aiming to drown his memories, Brakus stumbles from job to job. But, after a deadly plague breaks out following his last expedition and threatens to wipe out the denizens of Precipice, the sniper is forced back into the Fortress in search of a cure, with only the slimmest hope of finding one.

TAU EMPIRE: XV8 CRISIS BATTLESUIT

An iconic rendering of Tau technological progress and ingenuity, the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit is a thing of joy to behold in battle - unless you’re its target. Skimming along on the jets of their repulsor engines, Crisis Battlesuits close on their enemy with a surprising speed, unloading their diverse weaponry and leaping away in a split second. Only the best Tau warriors are allowed to pilot these machines, spending years on the front line before even being considered for this honour. Able to be dropped from a planet’s upper atmosphere, slamming into ranks of enemies like a tidal wave, the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit is the ultimate balance of firepower, speed and resilience. This multi-part plastic kit contains everything needed to build three XV8 Crisis Battlesuits, with six accompanying drones. There’s an impressive level of customisation available, with ball fittings allowing unprecedented posability. One miniature can be optionally assembled as a Shas’vre, with special head and chest plate, and there’s a prodigious amount of advanced Tau weaponry in the box: four plasma rifles, three flamers, four fusion blasters, four burst cannons, three missile pods and three shield generators. The six accompanying drones can each be built as gun, shield or marker variants and an assortment of battlesuit electronics systems are included. One model in the kit can even be built as the new, experimental Iridium-class XV8-02 Crisis Battlesuit - distinguishable by its thicker armour and aggressive appearance. Huge variety!   152 components are included in total, with three Citadel 50mm Round bases and three Citadel small Flying bases.

SPACE MARINES: PRIMARIS REPULSOR EXECUTIONER

Though some Chapters use Repulsor Executioners as armoured escorts for their dedicated troop-carrying tanks, many favour them as transports for Hellblasters and other specialist Primaris squads. In this capacity, the tanks thrum across the battlefield with guns blazing. Whether armed with macro plasma incinerators or heavy laser destroyers, the Executioners unleash fusillade after punishing fusillade, their primary armaments combining with a wealth of secondary weapons to blast the enemy into ruin. The Repulsor Executioner is the most heavily armed battle tank available to the Adeptus Astartes, with a choice of murderously powerful, primary turret-mounted weapon – a macro plasma incinerator or heavy laser destructor – supported by a coaxial heavy onslaught gatling cannon. Add to that two krakstorm grenade launchers, two storm bolters, a twin Icarus ironhail heavy stubber, an ironhail heavy stubber as well as a hull-mounted twin heavy bolter and your Repulsor Executioner certainly won’t be lacking for firepower! You can supplement this offensive capability with a set of defensive auto launchers and even an Icarus rocket pod for further aerial protection. This multipart plastic kit is comprised of 150-components. It can be assembled with or without a gunner, who can be built scanning with an auspex or with his hands on the trigger of the pintle-mounted ironhail heavy stubber. There are also eight separate pieces of optional stowage and two antennae that can be used to decorate the vehicle as desired. The kit is supplied with a Citadel 100mm Round Base and clear hover stand, which can be set at an angle, adding a certain degree of camber to your model. Warhammer 40,000 rules for this vehicle can all be found in its assembly guide (included in the set).
